And a curse.
When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case -- but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother -- who has supernatural gifts of his own -- becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most

My thoughts:
I have found yet another series to obsess over! I've been eyeing Clarity since it came out but was really unsure about whether or not it would be something I'd enjoy. I finally gave in and got a copy and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely adored this book and wish I'd read it a year ago. I hope that mystery is the new ''thing'' in YA fiction because I will be devouring all books in this genre! Clarity is more than just a gorgeous cover- it's a lovely and riveting story with unique and likable characters.

When I first started this book, I thought it was good but nothing spectacular. However, I was quickly drawn in and ended up reading it all in one sitting! I just couldn't force myself to put the book down and do anything else. I just wanted to curl up and get lost in the story. I was sad when it came to an end. Despite its content, I still found it to be a real comfort read and a complete pleasure to read.

This novel tells the story of Clarity ''Clare'' Fern whose whole family has psychic abilities. Clare just has to touch an object and she gets flashes of the past from the people who have touched it before her. I've read a lot of special abilities books this year but this was the best! Clary's family is so quirky and fun- I loved it! They have it really tough because people mock them all the time but they're all very strong people and believe in what they do. It was also really cool to see that a few people in the town who accepted them for who they are. It sucked that some people only wanted them when they needed something- like help in solving a murder case.

Clarity was a suspenseful read that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's full of mystery and intrigue which makes it a real page-turner. This book will have you rushing ahead to find out the answers but at the same time, you'll be hoping it never ends! I wish this book had been longer because I wanted more of these brilliant characters. I love Clare and found it really easy to relate to her. Her brother- Periwinkle ''Perry''- was a very interesting guy too and it was fun trying to work out what to think about him.

There's a love triangle forming and while I'm not sure how I feel about that just yet, I adore all the characters involved and can't wait to see more of them in the next book, Perception. To say too much about this book would ruin it, since it's a mystery. But let's just say it was absolutely wonderful and Kim Harrington has a new fan! She's definitely going on my auto-buy list.

  5. you know.. I am like you.. I am hesitant to start this series but I mean.. the books are so tiny!! and I heard the best things about it. The whole clare touching something and remembering its past is very similar to sophie little field's Hanging by a Thread. I love a quirky family though.

    awesome review,
