Description:
When Madeline O'Connor learns that her estranged sister is gravely ill, she leaves behind her life in Manhattan to be at her sister's side in Italy. There, she discovers an ancient Benedictine monastery that accommodates travelers, and she decides to stay there, among the monks. Everything in her life turns upside down when she falls for Brother Anthony Lamberti, a soft-spoken Italian completely different from the men she knows in New York. Together Madeline and Anthony find love for the first time, and learn that life and love always find a way. When her sister dies, a new life for Madeline begins. A new life that she would never have imagined and yet is perfect for her in every way.

Excerpt

He could no longer resist. He gathered her into his arms. Closed his eyes. And all there was, was Isabella. Her body pressed against his. The skin of her cheek warm against his neck. The scent of her hair. The gentle rise and fall of her breath. He lay back against the bench and she followed, the length of her lying on top of him. Her head resting on his chest.

“I can feel the beating of your heart,” she whispered.

He smiled, and stroked her hair, overcome by a feeling of peace, a sense that he was exactly where he was supposed to be. With her. And they lay that way for a few minutes, until they fell asleep with the sun setting over Venice.

Hours later, they were still lying together in the chapel. But now it was past curfew. Marco could not leave until morning.

  3. This really sounds wonderful and original, Nicola. The excerpt alone makes me want to read it right away. I can't help but wonder, though, why would an Italian be named Anthony? Antionio yes, but Anthony? Perhaps there's a reason for it. I can't wait to find out.

  11. Awww, this book sounds so sweet! I'm a sucker for books with sisters in them since my own sister and I are so different yet so close at the same time, and this sounds like a really touching and romantic read! Because with the setting of Italy, I honestly have no idea how it could go wrong! ;)

Thanks so much for sharing, Nicola! :) <3
